Dear Dr. Borg, I am a surgical oncologist who does breast and head & neck surgery. I am an Ultrasound Instructor for the American College of Surgeons and have been working with Larry for almost 10 years. The most important thing I can say is that he is an honest, no-nonsense guy—a straight shooter. He is not going to sweet talk you. He will back anything that he sells with honesty. I myself have been using the same machine for the past 10 years without problem. Every machine on the market today is far better than what I'm using. It's been my experience that the new 100K machines the radiologists get are too sensitive—every cyst now has debris in it and becomes complex. So I wouldn't worry too much about the machine except getting the features that you need for your specific practice. Best of luck, and I'm sure you won't go wrong with Larry. I don't see your colleagues often (although I know them) as I am doing most of my surgery now at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Richard A. Lopchinsky, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dear Larry, Thank you for helping me continue my practice of breast surgery after my old ultrasound system failed. by allowing me to purchase a reliable new machine -The ATL Technology 8000-S Series at a very affordable price. I will send you quotes from other ultrasound retailers - you will be amazed at how low your price is compared to these other price monsters in the ultrasound business - especially the Hitachi.
I hope that your outright honesty and kindness in helping surgeons like me would continue into the years ahead.
Friend, Cabby (a GA general surgeon who teaches breast ultrasound courses)
Dear Larry, The system is great. I had a young guy come in with hand pain, I US'ed his hand and found a tracking abscess going up his tendons. He spent the next 2 weeks having significant operations from a highly specialized hand surgeon. Without the machine, I could not have Dx the tracking abscess. So the machine saved his hand and possible his life. Great machine!
Thank you,
Dr. Challie Minton
Larry, I used the little ultrasound machine to get myself out of a jam, a 68-year-old stroke victim on the Angiography table penumbra aspiration and intra-arterial TPA. (Interventional Radiologist sucks the clot out of the cerebral artery occluded by the clot, then puts TPA in to bust up the smaller bits of clot). I was called in during the procedure to control the patient's blood pressure and provide general anesthesia. Patient's IV (in his arm) failed at the moment of truth (anesthetic medicine injection) — so I put an 18-gauge IV in the patient's right internal jugular vein easily and quickly with the ultrasound unit, then I used it to guide my radial artery catheterization, which was not proceeding well using the usual technique of palpation and catheter insertion.
I was worried that I wasted my money in buying my own personal and portable ultrasound machine, however, this being the second case in 4 days in which this machine has proven pivotal to patient care has me assured I made the right choice.
Jim, a Florida Anesthesiologist
Larry, Seriously. I am very impressed. I am very detail oriented and I am very sensitive to the "customer service" part of business. I believe I am in line with Warren Buffet when he says that one of the most important traits that he looks for in a company is the character of the people running it. I do believe honesty and transparency is still the best policy. We may see lots of crooks around us in our society, in all strata of socio-economic status, but in the long run sincerity always pays. Thanks for doing a good job. I am going to put my comments on sermo and will send you a copy/paste.
These are my comments:
I left a message at their (theultrasoundstore.com) website. I got call back right away. All of my questions were answered with sincerity. I found them very trustworthy. Their website gives a good impression of honesty and accountability. They have got very good references too. I think I am going to be very happy customer with them. I just okayed to buy from them (in about 24 hours). Person who handled my case is very good. He was interacting with me over the weekend, even when he may have been busy with family. I have yet to see the product but I have a very good feeling about them and I think they will win a very strong recommendation from me.
This is what got me to look at your site: Check out The Ultrasound Store, based in Atlanta and has web site by same name. You don't need to spend $35,000 to get good imaging guidance. I have been doing office and hospital procedures with ultrasound since 1995 and could not practice without it. Keep your overhead down, get a basic machine, do it yourself and you will love it. Beware of big fancy machines with expensive maintenance contracts.
Again, thanks for keeping the American spirit of "work hard, live well" alive.
Thanking you,
With Warm Regards,
Pawan Kumar, M.D.
From a neurologist opening a new practice: Hi Larry Yes, I appreciate all your time and quick response. Without question, your quotes are the best I've seen on the units I'm interested in. As I mentioned, I'm still in the process of creating my new practice from scratch. Follow up with you in a few months once I have the nuts and bolts of my practice off the ground and am ready to buy. Thanks.
R Patel, M.D.
From a hospital sonographer: Hi, Larry, I spoke to the Interim CEO yesterday. He has changed his mind and decided not to purchase at this time—I will keep your contact info and once I have an actual commitment from him, we can get a new quote since the prices are changing. Thank you for working with me to get all of the information I requested. I can see why your company is so successful. Your customer service is outstanding.
Thanks again, Dedra Walker, R.T. (R) Lead Imaging Technologist

Our Track Record of Service
Our company was founded 107 years ago (1902) and evolved from food milling, to wholesale and retail building materials, to electronics and defense contracting, to management of sales operations for Macy's Department Stores and ultimately to ultrasound system, portable ultrasound and ultrasound machine CME education, equipment design, FDA approvals and sales — which is our sole business today.
We have educated thousands of physicians in the use of ultrasound systems. Our ACCME CAT 1 CME ultrasound courses are taught at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in NYC, the Ethicon Endo-Surgery Division of Johnson & Johnson, Emory and in private medical offices nationwide.
With help from our leasing representative, we have arranged over 4,000 medical equipment leases for hospitals and private physicians.
We are proud to have been awarded the Better Business Bureau highest rating of A+ for Reliability. We approved U.S. Government Contractors and approved sellers to government entities and hospitals nationwide, such as MD Anderson, Emory, HCA, Tenet Healthcare, Johns Hopkins to name just a few.
We are national ultrasound distributors and can offer you national ultrasound service as well as ship your system around the world.
